When you refuse to celebrate your life, you are saying "No" to life itself. When you celebrate your life, you say "Yes" to life. If you cannot appreciate your life, now and here, where and when? If you cannot now, you cannot ever. If you can now, you are blessed to give yourself a gift no one else can give you, not even "God."

I need no other life. Persons like to speak of an afterlife. Christian bookstores are replete with books on an endtime and an afterlife. Well, they can speak of such. I am not interested much, if any, in afterlife talk, it does not turn me on. I am turned on by life. Life turns me on. I want to celebrate life, not a before-life or after-life.

Now, the life I am given to appreciate is life, here. If life is not fully now, there is no heaven or nirvana, or a Pure Land. If I cannot love this life, it would be nonsense for me to assume by simply having this body die, I would be able to appreciate an afterlife.

No one can honor my life for me. Others can welcome my life, but not for me. No one can honor your life for you; no one can host your life for you. You are the only one who can appreciate your life for you, and be hospitable to yourself. Others may give you the gift of appreciation. You are to give that gift to yourself, for only you can do it. You need not try to hide behind money, status, spirituality, religion, busyness, things, being the ideal mom or dad, or some version of "God." Come out! Get out of hiding from your life, from life!

Can you get up in the morning and look in the mirror and love what you see? Can you appreciate where you live? Can you appreciate the friends you have been blessed with? The talents you have? Nature around you? Persons you meet day after day, or for only one time? The clouds? Sunshine? ... Rather than looking for a better life, or an afterlife, the place to begin looking is what you already have been given, what you already are.

To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.
